About Max Koya

I began experimenting with fabrics and designing styles as a young girl growing up in Lagos, Nigeria. Major holidays were exciting times since they allowed me the unfettered opportunity to draw my own outfits on little pieces of paper then rush off to the local tailor to bring my designs to life. Several decades and many career changes later, I've returned to my childhood passion: fashion.

Max Koya was ideated from the desire to merge two distinct fashion worlds. For centuries, it seemed that bold and inspiring African textures stood in a fashion class of their own and contended on the world fashion stage. Max Koya intertwines that beautiful, head-turning style with the brilliance of western contemporary fashion. The result? An explosion of clean lines, bold colors, feminine playfulness- a storied vision ready to take on any occasion.
