You may have thought the Damask was outdated- quite the contrary, Damask has made a heavy comeback and is taking the fashion scene by storm. If you’ve been paying any attention to the African scene-and might we suggest that you do- you’d know that Damask is one of the “it” fabrics and we stan an effortless classy, well put together look! Now before I get ahead of myself, here’s a quick, “what you should know” about Damask.

As you may suspect Damask originated from the region of Damascus, Syria. Damascus- one of the oldest continuous cities in the world was a large trading center for silk- which was and still is one of the fabrics used to make damask. In today’s world, Damask has been expanded to include other fabrics such as linen, cotton, wool, and even a few synthetic fabrics. Damask is a very forgiving and easy to care for fabric. We highly recommend checking out the Damask pieces on our main page and if you’re on the road to wearing Damask, may we suggest a purchase from Max Koya.
